I'm Michael McDonough, founder of mmcd studio, focused on reimagining places, environments and experiences through concept led spatial thinking.

With a foundation in architecture and over 13 years of creative experience, I develop future facing concepts that help organisations explore possibilities, communicate ambition and imagine what places can become.

My work explores how overlooked, undefined or underimagined environments can evolve into destinations that inspire engagement, shift perception and create meaningful impact. I approach each project through atmosphere, narrative and spatial storytelling, focusing not just on how environments look, but how they feel, function and are experienced.

Working across spatial design, visual storytelling, worldbuilding and conceptual development, I create ideas that help organisations see beyond what exists today and explore what might be possible tomorrow.

Technology is part of how I work, not what I create. Emerging creative tools, including AI, accelerate exploration, visualisation and communication while creative judgement, context and design direction remain fundamentally human. Every project begins with an idea, with technology helping to explore, refine and communicate it more effectively.
