I'm Michael McDonough, founder of mmcd studio, focused on reimagining spaces, environments and experiences through concept led spatial and visual thinking.

With a foundation in architecture and over 13 years of creative experience, I develop future facing concepts that help organisations explore possibilities, communicate ambition and imagine new forms, experiences and stories.

My work explores how overlooked, undefined or underimagined places and ideas can evolve into experiences that inspire engagement, shift perception and create meaningful impact. I approach each project through form, atmosphere, narrative and spatial storytelling, focusing not just on how things look, but how they feel, function and are experienced.

Working predominantly across spatial design, architectural form and experiential environments, alongside visual storytelling, worldbuilding, animation and conceptual development, I create ideas that help organisations see beyond what exists today and explore what might be possible tomorrow.

Technology is part of how I work, not what I create. Emerging creative tools, including AI, accelerate exploration, visualisation and communication while creative judgement, context and design direction remain fundamentally human. Every project begins with an idea, with technology helping to explore, refine and communicate it more effectively.
