I'm Michael McDonough, founder of mmcd studio, developing concept led ideas that reimagine spaces, experiences and the stories we build around them.
Working predominantly across spatial design, architectural form and experiential environments, alongside visual storytelling, animation and conceptual development, I create future facing concepts that explore new possibilities for places, destinations, public spaces, brands and experiences.
My work transforms overlooked, underperforming and undefined places and ideas into compelling visions that help organisations explore opportunity, communicate ambition, inspire audiences and rethink how people experience the world around them.
Combining spatial thinking, worldbuilding and visual narrative, I develop cinematic concepts that can move between architecture, environments, installations and animated storytelling, using each as a different way to explore and communicate an idea.
Over the past 13 years, I have collaborated with organisations including Sotheby's, Saatchi, WPP, Selfridges, Qatar Tourism and international creative partners across culture, design and experiential sectors.
Technology is part of how I work, not what I create. Emerging creative tools accelerate exploration, visualisation and communication while creative judgement, context and design direction remain fundamentally human.
