Archive Animation: “Wood” - Origins of the Pokeytummy World
Pokeytummy is a storytelling world born out of the creative work of mmcd studio, an evolving universe where quirky robotic characters, rich environments, and imaginative narratives intersect. Long before the Skippers trilogy began to take shape, earlier experiments explored tone, atmosphere, and the quiet emotional language that defines this world.
The opening sequence from “Wood” comes from this formative period - an introduction animation and backstory section that helped set the visual and narrative mood for a previous Pokeytummy production. Gentle motion, environmental storytelling, and a sense of discovery were all present here, ideas that continue to inform the universe today.
Even in this early work, the core principles of Pokeytummy were already taking shape: character-led storytelling, worlds that shift in tone and scale, and a balance between playfulness and cinematic atmosphere. Re-visiting Wood now offers a glimpse into the origins of the universe, a quieter beginning that helped guide later stories, including the forthcoming Skippers trilogy. These archive moments remain an essential part of the creative journey behind Pokeytummy.
