Lost / Hogarth WW
Animation and Art Direction
Crafted on behalf of Gramercy Park Studios and Hogarth London, Lost unfolds as a surreal, emotionally charged visual narrative, where atmosphere and movement become storytelling devices in their own right. From the earliest concept sketches through to the final frame, I led the art direction and animation, shaping every element to reflect the project’s haunting tone.
Production Process
Working in Maxon Cinema 4D with Insydium X-Particles, I wanted to create fluid, organic motion—allowing the visuals to feel alive yet unsettling. The process began with exploratory animation tests to define the language of movement, followed by iterative scene builds that merged textural detail with compositional balance. Lighting was treated as an active participant in the story, using carefully placed volumetrics and shadow interplay to enhance depth and mystery.
Each shot was approached as a self-contained micro-narrative, with simulations tuned not just for visual spectacle but for their emotional resonance—whether evoking the weight of isolation, the chaos of collapse, or the quiet pull of the unknown. From particle behavior and surface deformation to atmospheric layering, every choice was made to immerse the viewer in a space that feels simultaneously tangible and dreamlike.
